Thank you for choosing Allwest Moving and Storage. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website at www.allwestmovingandstorage.com (the "Website") and the moving, storage, and related services we provide. By engaging Allwest, you agree to these Terms.
About Allwest
Allwest Moving and Storage is a family-owned, third-generation Washington moving and storage company in operation since 1962. We are licensed under WUTC Permit No. HG-26138, US DOT #1277174, and MC #786271. Our principal place of business is 2640 Willamette Drive NE, Lacey, WA 98516.
Services
Allwest provides residential and commercial moving, storage, packing, crating, and related logistics services. Specific services performed for any customer are governed by the written estimate accepted by the customer and the Bill of Lading or Service Agreement signed at the time of service.
Estimates and Pricing
All Allwest services begin with a free written estimate. By accepting our estimate and authorizing services to proceed, you agree to these Terms.Pricing for intrastate moves within Washington complies with the rate bands established by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) under Tariff 15-C. Per Tariff 15-C, non-binding estimates may not be exceeded by more than 25%, and binding estimates may not be exceeded by more than 10%, without customer approval.Long-distance and interstate moves are coordinated through our Wheaton World Wide Moving agency and are priced per federal regulations based on shipment weight, distance, and additional services as set forth in your written estimate.Storage charges, packing charges, specialty handling fees, and other applicable charges are disclosed in your written estimate or Service Agreement.
Payment
Payment is due according to the terms set forth in your written estimate or Service Agreement. Allwest does not require deposits to book most moves. For ongoing storage services, payment is typically due monthly in advance.We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, business checks, and cash. Any payment not received within thirty (30) days of the invoice date may accrue interest at 1½% per month or the highest rate allowed by law, whichever is lower.If you fail to pay charges as they become due, Allwest may retain your goods until all amounts are paid, subject to applicable Washington law and WUTC tariff requirements.
Customer Responsibilities
By engaging Allwest, you represent and warrant that:You are over 18 and have the legal authority to enter into this AgreementYou have lawful right to the items being moved or storedYou have accurately disclosed the nature and value of items requiring special handling or insuranceYou will be available at scheduled pickup and delivery locations and timesYou will provide accurate contact and address information
Items Not Accepted for Moving or Storage
Allwest does not accept the following items for moving or storage:Living things (animals, plants, etc.)Hazardous, toxic, flammable, or explosive materialsPerishable goodsIllegal itemsItems prohibited by federal hazardous materials regulationsOther items including cash, jewelry, irreplaceable documents, and items of extraordinary value are accepted at the customer's risk and should be transported separately whenever possible.
Packing
Customers may pack their own items or hire Allwest to perform professional packing. Allwest is not liable for damage to items packed by the customer ("Packed by Owner") unless damage results from Allwest's negligence in handling. Professional packing is strongly recommended for fragile, valuable, or high-risk items.
Liability and Valuation Coverage
Allwest's liability for loss or damage during intrastate Washington moves is governed by WUTC Tariff 15-C. Customers select a valuation coverage option on the Bill of Lading at the time of service:Basic Value Protection — minimum coverage included at no additional costReplacement Cost Coverage with Deductible — increased coverage with a deductible; this is the default if no option is selectedFull Replacement Cost Coverage — maximum coverage based on declared valueDetailed valuation terms and current coverage rates are set forth in Tariff 15-C and on the Bill of Lading. Customers are responsible for any additional insurance coverage they wish to purchase.For interstate moves through our Wheaton World Wide Moving agency, valuation coverage is governed by federal regulations (FMCSA) and the Wheaton tariff.
Claims
Claims for loss, damage, overcharge, or delay must be filed in writing with Allwest within nine (9) months of delivery (or within nine months of when delivery should have occurred). Storage Services

Storage customers acknowledge:

Storage charges are billed according to the schedule disclosed in the Service Agreement

Items must not include prohibited materials (see "Items Not Accepted")

Allwest will not release stored items to anyone other than the customer without a court order or written consent

If charges remain unpaid, Allwest may exercise a lien on stored items per Washington law and WUTC requirements, including disposition by lien sale after proper notice

Allwest's facility maintains climate control designed to protect typical household and commercial goods, but does not guarantee against natural mold or mildew development
Cancellation and Changes
Customers may cancel or reschedule services by contacting Allwest. Late cancellation, short-notice changes, or no-shows at scheduled pickup/delivery times may incur fees as disclosed in your written estimate or Service Agreement. Allwest reserves the right to refuse service when pickup or delivery locations are unsafe, inaccessible, or otherwise impractical for our crews.

Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Allwest's total liability for any move, storage, or service is limited to the valuation coverage selected by the customer at the time of service. Allwest is not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages of any kind.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Allwest harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your use of Allwest's services, or your inclusion of prohibited items in moving or storage.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Thurston County, Washington, except as otherwise required by federal law for interstate moves.For interstate moves, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulates household goods transportation and provides additional consumer protections. Visit fmcsa.dot.gov for federal information.For unresolved complaints about intrastate moves in Washington, you may contact the UTC Consumer Protection Help Line at 1-888-333-WUTC (9882) or file a complaint at the UTC website.
Consumer Guide to Moving
Per WUTC requirements, Washington customers receive a copy of the "Consumer Guide to Moving in Washington State" with their written estimate. This guide explains your rights, the claims process, and protections under Tariff 15-C.
Changes to These Terms
Allwest may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our services or Website after changes constitutes acceptance.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with your written estimate, signed Bill of Lading or Service Agreement, Privacy Policy, and any incorporated tariffs (including WUTC Tariff 15-C for intrastate moves), constitute the entire agreement between you and Allwest.
